This past weekend was so much fun! A friend from camp (Mattress) came to visit us to start off the weekend. We hadn't seen him in a long time, so it was great to catch up with him. We also went to the Victorian Markets in the city. It's a huge open air market filled with cheap knock offs and anything you can think of. It was crazy........and there were camels there. On Tuesday we participated our most Australian cultural experience yet. We went to the Melbourne Cup and had such a great time! The Melb. Cup is huge out here. The whole state of Victoria has a day off of work for it. It's like the Kentucky Derby back home....but bigger. We went with several friends from work and two friends from camp (AZ and Mattress). We got dressed up and wore feathers in our hair! It was my first horse race experience.....really glad I went. Here are some pictures from the weekend and Cup day!
