The zoologists and Steve believe that there is a croc out there this big. Knowing how long they've been around and their survival skills they believe it's really out there. Haven't found it yet...but scary to think it's out there! After our vacation, Shrock and I headed to Brisbane. We stayed with our good friend Matt (Mattress) and had a great time catching up with him. We also saw some other former GAC'ers there as well. We got to meet up with Spud, AZ, Hoggy, Spanna, and Hogentine. Spud lives in Bris, Hoggy had a layover, AZ had a reunion with his Contiki friends, and Spanna and Hogentine both work in a town not far from the city. It was great seeing all of them!!! On the first night we went out in the city and had a blast!!! The bars in Bris were really good....a lot of night life in the city. The next day Matt showed us around the city. We took a boat and did a loop on the river that surrounds Bris. It was a great way to see the city! On my last day in Australia we headed to The Australian Zoo. This is the zoo that Steve Irwin helped create and where the Irwins live. It was amazing to go to Steve Iriwn's zoo! The feeling/atmosphere there is absolutely unreal. You can see first hand the work that the Irwin's have done and how much they truely care for their animals and the environment. It was unreal to be there and I we were just happy to pay our respects to Steve and the Irwin familly. As soon as you walk up to the gate of the zoo you are greeted by animal holders holding koalas and wombats. That's how the whole zoo is really. There are animal holders everywhere....and you can pet/feed some of the animals. We went to the Crocseum as well. This is a show that Steve created before his passing. There they had a show with snakes, birds, and of course Crocs! It was very kid oriented, but fun for adults as well. The whole zoo is very lively and interactive. Although it doesn't have as much animals as other zoos....I definitely think it was the best I've been to! It was a great way to spend my last day in Australia!!!
