Sydney Trip!!!

Maca, Av, and I

Shrock and I loved this! When you stood under it it echoed the waves which made it sound like you were under water. It was so neat!

Sydney's Luna Park...there's one in St. Kilda too

Birthday kisses for the birthday boy!
Our night pictures didn't really turn out that well...but it was absolutely amazing!

Hello Sailors!
Blurry, but you get the idea
Cutting the cake...check out Hoggy's dad dressed as Captain Hook in the background!
At the end of the night we ran into a Hen's party full of sailor girls. They loved Tom!

The girls trying to look tough
The guys were better at it...
Our gift for Tom...we thought it might help him out. The best part was that on the box it says "Use with caution!"
Group shot before getting on our flight
Tim with Koda....he felt bad for her and decided to carry her so that she could keep up with us!

Our dear friend from camp, Tom (Hoggy), finally turned 21. For his 21st birthday he invited us up to Sydney to help him celebrate. Shrock, Tim, and I left on a Thursday morning and didn't come back to Melbs until Monday night. It was the perfect length of time for a great weekend. I had such a great time in Sydney! On the first night we stayed with Hoggy and caught up with him and his roomie Alex. The next day we caught a ferry and headed to Manly Beach. We met up with AZ and he took us snorkeling! It was Shrock's first time and she absolutely loved it. After snorkeling we went out with two more camp people, Maca (Sophia) and Avcats (Avril). I hadn't seen these two since camp. It was so nice catching up with them and hanging out with them again! The next day Tim, Shrock, AZ, and I walked around Sydney before heading back to Hoggy's apartment to get ready for his birthday party. After waiting for a bus for two hours and trying to find a cab we finally made it back to the apartment for a quick shower. We then headed to Darling Harbor where we boarded a boat that his parents had rented for his 21st. On the invitation it said the them was "Naughtycal." We didn't really get it until our roommate Adam pointed out that it was a "nautical but naughty" theme. Duh! The Melbournites stuck out dressed in normal clothes while everyone else was decked in nautical clothing! It was such a great party. What better way to see Sydney at night than to cruise around the harbor for four hours going right past the Opera house/bridge/Luna Park...etc. 21st parties are a lot different here than in the states. His family and friends made speeches for him, there was a cutting of the cake, and there was a slide show of "Tom's Life" playing too. It was neat to see the way Aussies typically celebrate 21st birthdays. The next day was his real birthday date. Tim, Shrock, Tom, me, and two of his friends from Brisbane headed to Coogee beach for the day and then got some dinner at a really nice beer garden. Tom also showed us the University of New South Wales which is the school he attends. It was really nice and kind of reminded me of Purdue :(! On Monday we met up with another girl from camp, Sparkles (Dani). It was so good to see her! She drove us to her house for a swim before leaving Sydney. We had such a nice relaxing time swimming in her pool and playing with her dog Koda! The dog was the cutest thing with the shortest legs. After Spark's house we met up with AZ for a final goodbye near the airport. It was such a great weekend!!!
